Meet Dr. Jennifer Yip

I’m a Registered Psychologist based in Vancouver, BC. I completed my MA (2015) and PhD (2023) at the University of British Columbia (UBC). My dissertation focused on the cognitive and affective dimensions of attention, i.e., how emotions influence our minds wandering.

I have trained and worked in a range of settings including:

• BC Psychosis Program and Mood Disorders Inpatient Unit (Vancouver Coastal Health)

• BC Children’s Hospital and Burnaby General Hospital

• Cornerstone Child & Family Psychology Clinic

• UBC Psychology Clinic

• Stony Brook Hospital (New York) on inpatient psychiatric, emergency, and medical consultation teams

• Krasner Psychological Center and Mind-Body Clinical Research Center (NY), where I led DBT and CBT groups

• Liver Transplant Team at Vancouver General Hospital, supporting patients through transplant preparation and recovery

In addition to clinical work, I am a Sessional Lecturer at UBC.
